The Ness is probably the best deal out there. I got a Doherty. It's really expensive, it looks really good, I have no idea if it makes any difference in performance. I think anything is going to flow better than stock, but unless you've got a monster motor, the a/c isn't going to make much difference.
I was recommended, and have thus purchased, a Zippers Max Flo. The Arlen Ness Big Sucker is excellent as well- both (with the football cover replaced by a cool outer cover) allow a higher flow rate. My third choice would be a SE Stage 1A/C
Those SE Heavy Breathers style A/Cs are aerodynamically challenged since the end cover blocks air flow-like a semi in a wind tunnel- that's why Arlen Ness redesigned and went to the big sucker. I do agree they look good, but drop the bike and it will probably need to be replaced.
