I have also posted this in the general chat but I am sure someone here on softail section have done this many many times. Hopefully on a fatboy 2008...

I am installing new Handlebars for my 2008 Fatboy and after reading this forum and having the service manual I tried to do this myself. I have moved the tank back enough without removing the crossover lines that I can get to the connectors on each side..but after removing the connectors I am finding it hard to get the pins out.. I am not sure I am doing it right... If someone can point me to a page # on the manual that shows this connector or if someone can tell me how to go about removing this pins it would be greatly appreciated... I am on hold until I get some expert advice...please see the attached pics they are from the left side of the tank..

I believe you need to pull the bottom out RE this photo

Grab it with a pair of needle nose, and pull it out that will give you access to the clips holding the pins in.

xraybox is right... put a needle nose in those two center holes and put it out. you will then be able to twist the pins and pull the wires out. it's a pain in the ***... have patience and take your time. remember to make a diagram so you put the wires back in right. i believe it's on or around page a.10, a-20 of the owners manual.

Like said, pull the wedge out and it will let you get to the wires. I used a little pick to hold up the tang and pull the wires out. to install just push them in and they will lock in place.

Thank you guys both your responses helped tremendously.... I was able to take the connectors apart and able to put the new bars on.. now I need to re connect everything in reverse and hope the cable lengths are good... from the looks of it looks like it would fit... a bit tight but would work... I think since this is the first time it took a little bit more time but next time it would be a piece of cake... thanks once again.
