My friend had a 06 custom softail, and it will act like it is wants to start but only for a few sec. If you spray carb cleaner in the air filter it will run for maybe 5-7 sec. He has changed out the fuel pump, taken the injectors out and cleaned them. Checked for fire and getting that.

Does the fuel pump have electric hooked to it? sounds like its not pumping fuel

 

Yes it goes through the pressure up, everything, have looked for hole in line.

 

I have had a similar problem with a generator and a lawn tractor and in both cases it was an electrical solnoid that had failed and would not allow fuel to flow which sounds like your friends problem. I'm not familar with the EFI fuel system since this is my first EFI Bike but I would look for something in the fuel system along those lines.
