I did the same thing to my factory stock rims on my F250 and I have off road with them several years and they still look just as good as the day I did them.
Prep work, self etching primer and very light coats and a ton of them is the trick!

now blacken the pipes with black header paint. but only the first half or the last half. will give a ghost look. do it on the computer first and see what looks best. i did that where the passenger pegs are so now the pipes look like short shots and the chrome tips
