Default crossbones fornt springs

just wondering if they have a life span. that is, do they wear out?

also, the 5 year road hazard gaurantee (tires, towing, rtc.) runs about $1300.00
anybody think this is a good deal?
thx,
goo
note, change title to read' " front springs" not "fornt springs".

Don't know how good this info is, and don't know much on the old school springer front ends, but a guy at a local shop told me that the newer springer setup shouldn't wear out too soon with the new fittings for greasing and lube the old ones didn't have.

Like I said, I don't know from experience, but he said my Crossbones should hold strong for many years to come.

I'd ask the dealer what the "shelf life" on the front end is expected...I haven't had any problems out of mine.

I know about 100 people with Heritage Springers ranging in mileage from 5K to 125K and no springs have worn out.....
Many have changed the front shock to progressive or Fournales.

Keep the neck greased...And ride

"Springs" if not fully compressed for extended periods. Have an almost infinate lifespan.

I agreed, think about how many cars are on the road with coil spring suspensions, how often do you hear about a broken spring?

the car's spring perch usually rots out before the spring fails. (at least here in the rust belt).

Or how many old rifle/pistol/shotguns fail to feed because the springs are gone in the magazines. If they are kept loaded to capacity they might. Heck I have a 12ga that's older than me that feeds fine. And VN era M16 mags that work great also.
