I understand what you're saying, Babs. I've seen a lot of confused customers coming through our doors everyday.
People telling me they don't want a Softail, they would prefer a Fat Boy.

Yes, the numerous models can be confusing to some folks, but I've been ring for about 30 years, and I remember when people complained about too few choices in the HD lineup.

hehe.. I guess you can't please everybody. Though H-D attempts to.

I think I'm just bitching because I miss 1990's prices. Such is marriage and kids to change the mind-set huh. The reason I still remain scoot-less at the moment. I might actually represent a portion of the market H-D is seeing now.. The guys that finally got married, added a few mouths to feed and don't have the TIME to ride, much less the frivolous cash to download on a harley. ... No riding, just waiting for tuition fees and the sweet kiss of death now. hehehehehe

I'm just a ray of @#$%^ sunshine this morning huh! Maybe I can justify a new scoot for health purposes.. I'll bet there's a study somewhere on riding and health.. I'll have to practice my google fu.

You definately can't please all the people all the time- you got that right. And I'm not necessarily trying to defend HD, either. I've seen what I thought were questionable decisions over the years, too.

I think everyone misses the prices of the early 90's. I know I do. Hell, the Softail in my sig was bought brand new by yours truly for $10,800 out the door in the fall of '87.

You're right, you represent a huge portion of the market we see at least in our shop daily. The guy who had a bike, got married and started a family, raised that family and eventually got out of the bike scene. I hear all the time how surprised people are by current pricing, but let's face it, everything's more expensive these days.

Harley is not above feeling the pinch of the economy, but at least they aren't asking the government for a bailout. They, like everyone else need to learn to learn how to tighten their collective belts and still remain an American tradtion.

I don't know about a "ray of sunshine"-lol, but at least you seem to get it.

Now get them babies through college so they can take care of dear old dad!

Riders are just mentally sharper, and more likely to give the wife flowers.
