Thanks so thats all i should need then the o2 sensors and the gaskets? Do i need to get anything changed by the dealership? ie; the ECM?
I got the Red Crimson with chrome. When i saw it i feel in love with it. thanks once again
Sorry I meant O2 sensor bung holes. You won't need new O2 sensors as the ones that came with your bike are fine. You will not need a fuel management system until you change the air cleaner out. At that point you will need one. I use the MasterTune System and highlt recommend it. Allows for flexibility in use from begineer to expert without the need to replace the EXM.
Thanks for your service to our country it is greatly appreciated. What branch are you in? I was in the Army.
Im in the Army, thanks for the info. Honestly its been really great info. My next big thing will probably be a aircleaner. I've been eyeing some, i like the ones that stick out and face forward. Like the Spike air cleaners, or the Harley screaming eagle ones. As for the Fuel management, is that something I am able to do myself? Sorry if i seem totally lost on these things.
And can anyone recommend a decent priced side lisence plate holder?
Dragon left some ideal pipes for you to look at....the Yaffe's are real nice too. The Big Radius 2n2 are common and nice but I do like the 2n1 a bit better...shockwaves are good...hell they are all nice. ..lol. Like mike mentioned...if you go with pipes and air breather...you should be looking at the tuner too. Again more dollars spent and if you get one, I would reccomend spending the extra cash on a Thundermax. This will be my next purchase as well. I currently have the Fuelpak and it sucks IMO....popping and decel popping and all kinds of stuff weird.
I did a simple solution for the side plate mount and can explain in detail when you PM me.
nice B' day gift man, +1 on the red too! as for the vance and hines 2 into 1's they're EAZY to install I had no clue where to start and was able to install them on my rocker in about 40 mins. it comes with one peg relocator so will have to buy another one for the left side about $25. also as i found out these pipes aren't very loud just my . but don't worry installing them are eazy, have fun man and congrats on the bike!
im leaning more towards the 2n2 2-1 at the moment. But looking at more and more pipes just makes me want to get them all. Wife won't have any of that HAHA. Thanks Hawaii, shoots bra. ( been so long since i spoke pigeon )
Rocketrocker i will deff. shoot you a PM, but i don't plan on getting a breather and a fuel pack till mid next year if not later. We will see, sending you a pm now.
Thanks all again. I'll try to upload some pics of me riding home from the dealership when i picked it up, as well as what i've done so far ( much of nothing )
Congrats on the new ride.. These get expensive molding them into what we envision.. Find the pipe you like and install it.. Very simple even for a beginner.. In you search for parts you'll see "Except FXCW/C" often.. Most of the time you can ignore that warning but it's always best to check in here before you buy since most guys have already been down that road.. If you go with V&H you will see this warning on most of their pipes..
When you do the intake do not buy the dealer download for $125 thinking that's all you need so you just saved $300 over buying a tuner.. You will still get the tuner in the future so just suck it up and buy now.. I use the TTS Mastertune and love it.. No need for a dyno, just 3-5 30 min rides with it hooked up to your laptop.. When the day comes that you decide to upgrade the motor the dealer stage 1 download will no longer work but the tuner can take you the rest of the way.. Learn from my mistakes.. lol
Will i need to get the dealer download regardless? I'm set on V&H, and understand i don't a Tuner till i change my air intake. But will i need the download from the dealer with these new pipes?
No.. Not with pipes only.. Once you do the intake you will need a new map for your AFR.. Put your new pipes on and go ride.. That's all you gotta do right now..
