Like the show...hate that bubble thing on their bikes...and I don't care who's ridin' it or what Hollywood says.
I'd have fired the guy that came up with that bubble fairing look. Looks like something we laughed about years ago and then they just went away....or ended up on a beemer bike... Any hardcore MCs using that thing?? I'm surprised the shows producers (Hollywood) didn't put those long leather grip tassles on those Dynas.
I'm guessing HD didn't donate the bikes for the program. The show probably wanted higher bars on the Dyna's to make them look bad, and then realized that straight bar stock they used looked wrong, and then tried to cover it up with the bubble.

I can't imagine they have any trouble finding bikes to be on the show -- or finding any parts they want. If the T-bars didn't look right, it would have been easier to change the bars instead of getting the fairings. There are some real bikers involved with that show, so I don't think there is a lack of knowledge there. It may be a place to hide cameras ..
That said, they should have a bigger mix of bikes to include softails, and older bikes to include evos and shovels. Having everyone ride exactly the same bike set up the same way is pretty lame.
I didn't ever get a real close look at that fairing but it looks like an item Harley had for Dynas, called a Quarter Fairing. I found one in the 2007 P&A catalog page 152.

No there are absolutely no real "hardcore" bikers with them on their bikes, hollywood got it all wrong, they should have consulted you before they filmed!!!! and with all your biker experience and know how I dont see how YOU didnt get the job of production assistant. then you could have made the bikes look like all yours since yours is definately hardcore, badazz, bareknuckle biker.
I've actually seen quite a few Hells Angels with them quarter fairings. In fact, a large portion of 1%er bikes that i've seen are dynas and FXR's with the little fairings. Ain't my style, but whatever floats their boat.
In the 90's I saw a bunch of Harley's in CA fitted with the fairings, but they were race bikes back in the day and I think they worked for faster times.
I think a tuned big bore Dyna set up right with those fairings would give some sport bikes a run for their money.
I like the look and wanted to that look with a Sportster, Dyna, and even my Night Train.
No I don't have a P/N for the fairing setup. I just asked my parts friend to look up the cost for me. Once he told me the price I left it at that.
I kind of wondered if they didn't use the fairings for filming purposes. To kind of create a wind break for close up shots on the actors as they are riding so hat's and other props maybe stay on and not blow off or have hair blowing straight back. I couldn't figure out why they used them other than that unless they had camera's hidden inside the front of them or something.
I did read somewhere that Harley did donate the bikes and for this season each actor got a new bike along with a personal mech. to have the bike setup the way they wanted. Everyone but Clay got a new bike.... wonder why that is?
