I really like them. Looks good. However, I've seen many posts on here with problems with the LEDs going out and I'm hesitant to spend the money.
From an older HD catalog to the newer 2010 HD catalog they show that there is a newer superceded part number for the flush mount cap and gauge units. I would hope that this is a sign that they (HD) fixed the problem with the faulty units that had problems with the LED's goiung out.
I just installed these today on my 06 Deluxe. So was it worth the $199 dollars. I need some opinions. Never mind the fingerprints I forgot to wipe them off before I took the pictures. You will notice the fuel gauge lights up on the left now fom the 8'0 Clock to the 4'0 Clock to show empty to full.
A buddy of mine who had a 05' Deluxe had that very same set-up and it looked cool, but the one thing he said was that they were very inacurate. but are HD fuel gauges ever acurate....not really. Looks like someones putting some dough into thier bike...i like i like...as for my opinion...if i were to put it on my bike? I like needles for guages....nice
I am a bit itchy, wanted to get one a long time ago. Does anybody have the LED going off? I heard this problem from time to time. BTW, I think this flush mount cap looks best on Deuce imo, kind of match the console.
I just bought my '06 Deluxe a few weeks ago, so I can't say what the quality of the installation was or when it was done.
Those LED lights sometimes work, most of the time, not.
I can fill up, and three out of the four come on. After as little as 20 miles, it fluctuates between one and two lights.
The other thing is the plastic "chrome" is peeling off.
I'd like to take the entire thing off and put it back to stock, but in looking at the installation instructions, it looks like a major operation to get it out once snapped into the tank.
Edit:
I wish I'd looked at the original posting date. Don't like to contribute to bringin' stuff back from the dead
