In the process of cleaning up the lines on the bike, Im getting rid of my rear turn signals and just plan on running a light on the left side near my tag like the older scoots. Just wondering what you guys think of this as far as having enough light to be visible by cagers ..

While I understand what you want to do, you need to consider 2 things:
1) Do your local laws allow for the removal and running without rear turn signals?
2) Do you feel that less light is going to keep you safe?
I want to be as visible as possible, because we all know, we have to lookout for ourselves, no one else is...
I'm with you Guys on the more is better. As for the cops. They don't bother the Harley/custom bikes as much as they do the sport bikes. I don't really forsee them being a big problem.
My concern is will I be visible enough to the other drivers. Although when you stop and think about it. All the older chopper/bobbers run like I'm saying.
My , The way things are out there now, and being hit in the rear once, I want to be highly visible from the rear..
I even changed my brake lites to the brake/running/stop lite, with the HDplug in wiring kit to be seen better.
I've seen some bike that was very hard if not almost impossible to see at night from the rear.
Just like a big ole buck Deer, they didn't live that long by being DUMB.!!!
Well the only lights I have on my bike is the brake light underneath the rear fender and my headlight.... Looks really clean... I use hand signals and my exhaust to grab peoples attention. However, the police may not like you not having any turn signals... But thats a chance you have to take when you want to look sleak and pretty... I will take my chances.
You could also put red led strips under you're swing arm out of sight. Use them as you're turn signals and brake light just don't run them constantly. I'm thinking of doing this. Just small ones that really light up. I would put mine just for braking though cause I already have blinkers. More light is better.
I ride in groups of 20+ bikes. Even bikes that have the normal brake, turn signal setup its hard to notice their lights some times depending on the direction of the sun, if its a fast emergency stop, a last second maneuver or turn, fog, rain... In other words, you are not only making it more difficult for the cagers to see ya and understand what you are doing, but your bikin buds as well.
Hand signals are good under normal conditions and when time allows.
The rtb module and rear LED's was money well spent, "for me".
