I hear a slight sound from 5th gear but it sounds normal for a Harley. It;s 09 Heritige. My 05 Duece had it, never bothered me. With all these pleople complaining a harley soon will sound like a well oiled sewing machine.
I have an 08 FXSTC and cant hear a dang thing different in 5th gear than my 05 FXST. I have tried and tried to hear somthing different and cant. I think that Harley needed to change something just to change it so people would by a new bike IMHO.

Yeah, I've said this on numerous occasions that I never understood all the complaints about the 5th gear whine as well. I have an 07 Heritage and I sure can hear it slightly but it certainly never bothered me THAT much. Maybe I am just lucky and the sound varies from bike to bike but I just never thought it was a big deal at all. Now with my Vance & Hines BSS I don't really hear it at all...LOL
I have 2010 Fat Boy Low, for me she is super about the price can`t help as i live in Europe and bikes cost Double then States.
Max
Not to worried about the price. Just finding out what all have to say about them good or bad. As i would like to know if they are having any problems before I get it.
An 09 should be cheaper then 10 . What are they trying to save and collect the whole lot of 09 leftovers so that they will be collectors in 30 years
Makes no sense but that 09 that was on the floor when I bought mine , had a sold tag on it about a week later when I stopped in. I'm assuming that it still sold for what they told me when I asked because this dealer usually is firm on the price put on the bikes..
Has anyone else noticed that in 99% of the 2010 Heritage pictures Harley provides that the bike is shown with wide whites with no mention in the picture that they are an option. So far that's been my biggest disappointment on my new one. I can't bring myself to replace perfectly good tires but the bike really needs wide whites.

Just get them on your first tire change (although you'd be changing out a good front as it should be good for about 20,000 miles). You should get about 8,000 out of your rear before needing a new tire. This way you won't feel as bad about changing good tires (gotta play the head game with yourself...haha)
Oh, you mean the same logic that caused me to replace a perfectly good exhaust system (twice pipes w/fishtails), air cleaner (SE), fuel management (V&H), foot pegs (floorboards), license bracket (laydown), turn signal bar (shorty), sissy bar (detachable), and naturally the grips and shifter pegs. It's like Christmas every day waiting for UPS and the mail. Fortunately this ain't my first rodeo and thank God for ebay.
