Thanks for the info prodrag, That's good! I was thinking it would be closer to $100.... that's why I've been putting off calling them this morning! I'll let you know how much the repair costs.

tk353, there should have been room... if I had secured the wire harness like I should have. I had the PCIII connector just kinda laying in there and it shook down into harms way.

oct1949, there's definitely NO extra space under a Heritage seat! Maybe the deeper ECM tray will make mounting the unit in a safe place a little easier.

Kirby, I called DynoJet today about getting the plug replaced on my PCIII.... the guy I talked to said they didn't do that anymore. I guess I'm outta luck if I can't get it patched up myself.

Hi all I am new here and here my first post...

I "HAD" a PC3 installed on my Fatboy , and had a problem with the supplied ECM tray getting worn thru by my tire ( I am lowered 2 1/2") trashed my gray cable covers and it finally trashed my factory ECM. So I replaced with a ThunderMAX (better!) using a new PCM III tray I was sent, (DON"T USE FACTORY Bolts As advised with Tmax they are too long) darn if it did not get knocked out as well (ok my Factory tray did as well) so my bike is too low, so I ordered a set of shotgun airshocks to be installed soon. That should fix me up good!!

Wish I had installed the PC3 under the mudguard (2 bolts you can reach with the tire on it's easier than it looks with the tray out you can see what is going on) but I was new at this and in a rush - so I paid 2x

Anyhow Tmax was awesome helping me find a new strain relief (the gray cover) for my cables. Here is the link
http://www.mouser.com/search/ProductDetail.aspx?qs=xyz6lfZ1ktI2qXEAqbMoaA%3D%3D

I need to adjust my Shotgun 2:1 exhaust for a better sound 14 baffles is too many but the torque is nice

Along with shotgun air shocks - S&S Cams going in over the winter and hopefully a baker DD6

Yes. The Harley ECM plug was damaged too, but not bad enough to make it unusable.

Ironsides, thanks for that link!

That's what I just did TK. Only saved 22% off retail, but it's a brand new unit. Since it replaces the stock ECM, I shouldn't have any problems mounting the ThunderMax??? With the luck I've been having, I wouldn't be surprised if I somehow manage to screw up the Tmax!

Gonna be a PCIII in the classifieds for cheap....

i ran the front cable over the top of the engine in the cable tray and it was easy. just take your time. if you do remove the gas tank disconnect the fuel line first or you will get the $45 mistake i made.
