Default Winter Modifications Finished

I just wanted to let everyone know that I got my maint. done on the bike including pipes, XIED's, Air cleaner, tires. I let American Custom modify the pipes and I ordered the mid-range baffles for them. With the Nightrider XIED's, Amsoil AC, and pipes the bike runs great and the throttle response is much quicker. I have not had a chance to run it with the mid-range baffles. Without the baffles the bike has a deep rumble and it sounds like the sound AM has on their website. It sounds great, BUT, since I use the bike for long distance touring, I'm not sure I want to be on it 10 or 12 hours without the baffles. Time will tell. The XIED's enrichened the mixture from 14.7 to 13.8, according to the Nightrider website. It's not so rich that when you touch the inside of the exhaust pipe your finger gets black, nor does it smell rich.

I just got a Sony camera and I'll work on that. The pipes look the same as they did stock-all AC does is neatly remove the stock baffle guts.(In other words it looks totally stock but it sure doesn't sound that way!!) So when I got the pipes back I could look straight through them. The baffle slips inside the muffler and a small neatly beveled allen type screw secures them. The screw is located on the bottom of the muffler and you can't see it unless you get down and look up at the bottom of the muffler. The baffles go in or you just remove them. They do make a larger baffle(it looks longer) that, according to AC puts the bike back to stock (Decibel level) sound. As far as the XIED's are concerned, they are a "plug n play". One connects under the oil tank where the O2 sensor plugs are and the front cylinder one just connects where the front O2 sensor plugs in the harness up front. Maybe it took 15 min. to put them in, if that.

Dude, it's not even December and your WINTER mods are finished?

You never turned in your homework late either, did you?

Just kidding, man. But I'll bet you a six pack of whatever you're drinking that you'll be doing something else to your bike in the next 3 months.

That's exactly what I was thinking! You're gonna go nuts between now and spring if you're really done... I'm with micahpop, you just think you're finished!

Default Pictures of AC altered stock H-D mufflers

Here are the photos. The reason I did these mods before "winter" was that the wife was gone and I could do them in peace. (No distractions) Now I have other projects. My dog just had to have a leg operation that was $2800. So the only good thing about that is I put it on the H-D card where I can get some points. Although I don't consider it a modification, I would like to apply those to a travel bag that will go on the luggage rack behind the T-Bag. Otherwise, I'm done. I'm going on record here, you wanted pictures you got em. I still have a deer to shoot. I'll be dusting the bike periodically.
