Default No power commander

The dealer never told me to do a power commander from the start. They did the pipes and larger air cleaner, and did a flash from Vance and Hines, through HD. I had to wait a month and a half, to get the pipes and air cleaner installed, due to the flash not being released from Vance and Hines or something along those lines, this was the end of 07'. I have utilized the dealer for everything due to the warranty. I still have two years of warranty to go, extended warranty. So the power commander makes a big difference? I was told by a friend with a 07 Nighttrain that it didnt impress him, and his bike was still backfiring and stalling occasionly. This is somethin. Thanks again for the help. Is their an inexpensive tuner that works good. I have no knowledge of these as of yet.

When I put the Rush and Air Cleaner on my 06 Deluxe I also put a Dobeck tuner on then road to my Indy for Dyno and adjustments(only a few miles)and when he put it on the dyno it was running super rich..

I know I am not the sharpest pencil in the box. but I have never heard of a V&H flash......

Short version on my 07 Heritage..

New- 1k . It would die at idle maybe 4-5 times, started right back up.
At 1k service, told wrench, couldn't find issue... Did the Stg1, SERT, SE/AC. rush pipes.. dynoed....No more dying.

No other problem till this yr, 22k..... Died near our Indy, completely dead. Pulled seat and unplugged ECM. waited a couple mins, plugged back together, fired right back up....

At home, checked battery cables, read in here some 07's having that issue. Both nuts where just finger tight. Cleaned and tightened.
Think cables was the problem, not ECM.....Have read since, sometimes reseting the ECM can help also....

Month ago had cutting out one day. made it home, read in here some are getting moisture in gas, weather was cold for 3weeks, then Indian summer. Got more riding in, thats when it happened. Put in Lucas gas treatment, problem gone...

So the SERT. and Dyno fixed first issue.
Cleaning the battery and tightening the bolts fixed 2nd
Moisture in tank, Gas treatment fixed the 3rd....

I know I'm gonna feel like and idiot sir, but what is SERT and SE/AC stand for? I really appreciate your time and information, it is cool to talk to someone that has been through some issues. I find that I love this bike and the amount of enjoyment I get out of riding it. So I hate it when I have issues. I look forward to getting this bug worked out. I talked with my friend up in Dallas last night and he ended up installing Ridemaxx on his 07 Nighttrain and had it dyno tuned and poof all problems have been gone for the last six months. Thanks again, gonna call the dealer tomorrow and if they have come up with anything, been three days.

As far as tuners/fuel management systems there are several out there depending what you want to spend....
I would go with the Power comander if I had to redo mine.

Chirs, Its Brian. I forgot to tell you the other night that when I put the V&H pipes on the fatboy i am going to go ahead and get the V&H fuelPak. Its a cheap version of the tuners and you can install it your self and program it your self with a few setting off of V&H's websight. All you do if feed your set up into the site and it gives you the codes to put into the fuelpak. All these codes are supposed to be dyno tuned by V&H themselves. The nice thing is you can get it for around $200 off of ebay.

If you don't have this fixed in the next few weeks I will let you know how it turns out.

When I did my AC and pipes I went with the FuelPak and was not happy. Lots of decel popping which really pissed me off. I then found the Power Commander V from Fuel Motto. I talked to Jamie and was hooked. I got put on and Jamie and I tweeked the map. The bike runs like a champ without a dyno. I am waiting to do cams before I have the bike dyno'd because I don't feel like throwing money at something twice.

FastHoss, the 08's had a defect in the fuel filter housing. They would crack, causing fuel pressure to drop and the bike would quit, dead! My 08 RKC crapped out right as I was cruisin in to my dealer's parking lot last year. I can guarantee that he don't have that problem if the bike will restart and run.
