Default burnout cycles lowering kit

well i got it on and it looks great, however the instructions are a little vague. it says when tightening the nuts on the stud "no need to over tighten, just enough that there is no play in the bushing". where the shock stud goes through the frame cross member there is a rubber bushing, cup washer and then the nut. same set up on each side of the cross member and you tighten them down sorta sandwiching the cross member in between. my question is should i tighenten them enough to completely crush the bushing so that the cup washer is tight against the frame? hope this makes sense, but if youve used this kit then you will know what i mean. thanks

crushing the washer would be over tightning.

Thanks for the reply springer, but I didnt mean crush the cup washer. I meant should I tighten until the bushing is crushed and washer is tight to the frame. thanks

Bushing compressed to the diameter of the washer mabe a little more. Like the shock bushing on your car. I don't think you would want any play .

In case anyone is wondering, this (BURNOUT CYCLES LOWING KIT FOR SOFTAIL DEUCE... J&P # 700-210) is a great set-up! Installed in a couple hours, and absolutely no problems, 500 miles and sittin' nice & low!
I ride solo so I had to lighten-up on the pre-load of Harley shocks and now smooth ride without bottoming out. Also, talked w/JEFF at Burnout and great CUSTOMER SERVICE. I just changed rear wheel & tire, went to an 18" and decided to adjust shocks without lifting ( weight off rear tire)... my fault (dumb, in a hurry) stripped a Nylock-Jam Nut, (no damage to stud) called JEFF he sent me a new one free of charge.
These have been on my Deuce a while now, and I ride it like I stole it, and have had zero problems with this Lowering Kit!!! Thanks to Burnout for doing it right & keepin' the price reasonable (under $100)!!!
