i've been having problems with my wife's 04 deuce and can't figure it out. the motor is an injected 88b with a stage 1 air cleaner, martin brothers wtf pipes no baffles, and v&h fuelpak. all was well then resently it started having a hard time starting and idling when cold. once it warms up it runs fine. at first i thought it was the fuel pump because it started make a strange noise when pressurizing the system. i replaced it and the it sounds normal now, but the cold start and idle is still rough. i know it's not the idle control sensor. i pulled the plug and the idle went all over the place and it still stumbled. it's not a vaccum leak, i sprayed all areas that could have a leak with carb cleaner and the idle was un changed. any ideas or answers would be appreciated.
ok all
first off thanks to all that responded. second the iac was the problem. i put the new one in and the bikes idle is perfect. i remapped the fuelpak and the bike hasn't ran this good in while. a friend said that you should remap occasionally then ride the bike for about 40 or 50 miles to clear out any junk the ecm may have put in it's memory. by the way the bike never put out any codes so i guess the self diagnosys is worthless.
thanks again
dingo
