I looked at it this way- I owe 8k....So, I could take the other 17k, put 10-12k down on a Road Glide, and spend the other 5-7k making it "mine," or pay cash for the whole thing, and ride a stock bike for while (and we all know that stock sucks). I have an itch for a bagger! But, I want BOTH. Softail for a barhopper, burn around town bike. Bagger for comfort. BUT...I'd rather stand here in 2yrs and say "I wish I'd bought a bagger sooner." Instead of "I wish I hadn't sold my Softail."
I would seriously consider that $25K offer. It is very difficult to recover any substantial money spent on customizing. You may have found that 1 buyer. Of course, I have a habit of buying/selling (6 bikes since 2003 with 2 still in the stable).
^ After seeing the 25K and having a holy **** experience in my head, thinking about getting 25k out of my 07, I would be inclined to take it and run. Get that bagger you want.
Well guys, I got out yesterday and took some new pics. I haven't had time to polish her up, but here's what she looks like now with the tins and Shotgun Shocks.
Your bike looks great. What ever happened with that $25k offer? I am guessing you turned it down?
I feel ya on the bagger itch. I have been wanting a street glide, but dont want to give up my bar hopper. My wife also says I cant get a new bike, and I have bought way too many things against her will in our marriage, so I will just give in and listen this time. I have been loading up on everything I need to make my dream bike (almost) out of my good old 04 standard (going with custom Fatboy tins, 19" front wheel, quick disconnect street glide bags, full quick disconnect fairing). This has all happened by one tiny little project escalating into something huge.
You definately got a good looking bike though. Keep up the good work.
