I'll let you know in about a month.. I'm putting the Deuce dash on mine and going with a regular softail coil in place of the grenade.. I'm doing it not because I hate the stock dash (I actually like it) but because the grenade/ignition is wearing me out.. It can be a bitch to get the key in in the dark but the main reason is cuz it ejects the key when it's off. I've had the damn key stuck between the engine and primary more than once and I'm tired of it.. lol
I've got most of the parts and the total wasn't too bad.. Right around $600.. $275 of that was the new speedo.. Got a used dash of ebay for $30 and getting it pc'd.. Dealer is giving 25% off installed parts right now and gave me a firm price of $200 to install it.. It's 5* here so I figured that was a good deal.. lol
Yeah, Rocker and Duece is the exact same tank. I had my original tanked dinged by a friend and his insurance bought me a new one. Another friend really wanted it cause he liked the badge on the side so we put it on about 9mo ago.
The Duece dash is the way to go. Remember there is space for the old type switch. But this is easily fixed as the factory wiring is there in place for the switch to be fitted. there is just a second switch that needs to be turned on to start tif it is plugged in. Is cheap enough but also have to buy a new speedo unit. Also could fit the usual style of tank if you like or even the genuine harley stretched tank looks fantastic as it hugs the rocker boxes plus the added bonus of extra fuel.
