When I installed a Magnum clutch cable on my bike with a V&H Pro pipe, I was able to get the clutch release cover off without removing the pipes. I did have to cut down an allen wrench slightly to untighten/tighten 3 of the release cover bolts. Other than that, no problems. Don't know if this helps (may not apply for pipes other than V&H).
Same here, I cut down an allen wrench also. Was still a pain in the butt though. Took me about an hour altoghether.
I have the Hooker Troublemakers, they have a similar curve like the V&H Big Radius, so maybe Ill be able to get to the bolts.
Wanna bet... lol
What I ment was about the bolts is that if they are to long they can hit the bars on the inside and give the feeling of being tight. Apes are fun first day when I put the raked front on I hit a pot hole and my bars came back about 4 inches... lol
Twist... how high are the bars? The 68 inch cable works fine on my friend Mike ride "Drak" with the BR bars with the spikes bike with the 14's... but those look wider... are they norrow bottom? I just wanna be sure be for you order them.
yea, they're narrows. Closer to what Chaz is running. I figure Ill turn the bars hard right and see if the cable stops it before the trees do. If not, may just be able to add a few inches to the overall length. Another thing I have noticed, my bike is a standard, came stock with buckhorns on 4inch pull back risers. When I called HCC asking about throttle idle length, he told me 38". I ordered 38 and they are way long. I wonder if he was looking at a night train specs instead of a standard. But, not sure if what was factory really matters. He told me 38 as in you need blah blah over stock, so 38. Not a difinitive, you need 38" to reach. Does this make any sense?
by the looks of your pics you will need a longer clutch cable. i did it to mine when i put apes on and it really isnt that bad to dao. just remeber what postion the snap ring opening inside the trans cover is. looking good man
I think my NT was like 32 or 34 inches stock trotle cables? Long is better then short... Mine seemed that way to but allows you to route the cables the way you want to instead of only having one option... Here a picture of the 68" clutch cable on my bike with 13" apes...
How long of one do you have now? (get your mind out of the gutter) I might have one that will work for ya. My bike came w/12" minis on 4" risers when I bought it. It's a snap to change but like story said pull the pipes it will save time in the long run
Lundee, uhh . . . I think its about seven or eight . . . . oh, ****, my bad . . . the cable. Ill pull a tape on it and let you know. that would be sweet if you had one layin around!
