Hey guys, Having a little bit of a problem here. when u install the PC III and attach your connectors under the seat my 2nd connector is being a pain in the ***!, I even called fuel moto and the told me to store it to the right of the cpu in that little space, well I would but my wires are not long enough to strech over there. Any idea's ?????
My PCIII will be here Friday and now you have me wondering if the space under the seat is going to be enough? I know the kit comes with a new plastic mount for the stock CPU that makes it sit lower in the rear tire well, however from other post, I wonder why they did not make this plastic mount even lower? Well I will know better Friday. I am waiting to see if anyone else responds here about their PCIII mounting problems also. Post a picture of how it looks with the seat off and let us see.
Well on my Fatboy where the wires come around the battery and up too the fuse box and stops right there. I don't have the extra lengh of the wires to strech the wires accross to lay the reciver beside the cpu. I found the diogram online, can't copy to paste it on here. But if you go to powercommander.com and and go to the install page scroll down to diogram 5 and you see what im talking about.
I must have last years model as mine does not sit in that space. I did get it positioned to the lowest level under the seat and I was able to get the seat on with minimal interference - I experienced the same issue as ski917, those wires are barely long enough to get the 2nd connector to sit flat. I will snap a picture of mine.
On my 06 FXST I put the computer module behind the mud flap with the PCIII plug zip tied to it so it would not vibrate loose. I then placed the PCIII under the seat in the plastic pan, where the computer module was, so I could access it easier for tuning etc. You never need to get to the CPU.
Thats cool, I guess in 07 is when they "HD" decided to mess with us and make the wire/cable short as hell. I've been told to tuck it beside the fuze box....xxxxxx wrong, can't do that either wires are to short to bend. I hope someone who has fixed this prblem see's this post and can offer some help.
i put mine here......the pc111 unit is in a holder behind the splash gaurd ...........i round up a pic
my 07 was done like that but the connector fit tight between the ecm connector and the battery. same as that picture but more to the left side of the bike.
why i love my thundermax
