I think a denim black Heritage would look awesome. I say go for it.
I love my Fatboy Lo Denim . . . it's really easy to keep clean . . . glass cleaner + micro fiber . . . basicly it ia all in the final clear coat with a flatening agent added to the clear coat. I had the fender done by a good friend at his shop. It matched the old fender perfectly.

That's a pretty good price too.. I paid $75 at the local auto paint store.. Kit has everything you need.. I know the guys there so when I was looking they said this was the paint to shoot and they were right.. Very easy.. Dries super fast... No wet sanding and shooting matte clear.. I did learn to use the 1.0 needle in the touchup gun rather than the 1.3 in the bigger gun.. Too much overspray with the 1.3.. Paint holds up very well and is easy to fix if you get a scratch.. There are somethings you can do with this paint as well.. If you don't want a total matte/dead finish you can buff a little 3M micro-fine compound on it and give it a little depth..
I was told that the denim effect was only because of a matte clear coat over the black. And that it was a pain to get perfect since you can't sand or polish it.
Why not ask your friend. He should know!
The Harley Black Denim I found at ColorRite.com says to "not" clear coat the paint.
Now I'm confused. My friend is going to look into it for me. I may call my dealer but they might not know because the don't do paint work there, (they farm it out).
Anybody know?
My painter is doing a regular black with a flattening agent in the clear on my Fatboy. To me, it makes the paint look flat, but still have tons of depth.
You can go to any PPG paint shop and they can supply the black paint along with clear ,and flattening agent. You have to be very careful when mixing flattening agent in the clear. I would mix a small batch , then experiment with the different affects of it. Once you get the finish you want, then stick to it. And like others have said, get it right the first shot. Otherwise, it's back to shooting it again. No sandin and polishing. What you shoot is what you get. Needs to be a very clean area.
I have touch up paint from HD for the Black Denim and Clear.
part# for the Denim is 98600BYM
part# for the Clear is 98600CLR and it does say Denim Clear on the bottle.
Hope it helps.
