If you have the big honkin' catalog that the dealer gives away, it will tell in the write up what all is required for installation of a particular part. There is also a table that tells also.
You should already have a service manual if you plan on working on your bike. Now you need to order a parts book. Your dealer can get you one. It shows every part on the bike and how many you will need.
When I got my Harley, the dealer gave me a catalog with over 800 pages of mods for all Harleys. When it showed me a new mod, it also listed the parts that went along with it. Example, when I was looking at the mini-apes, it listed the parts that I would need to go along with installing the new handlebars. Maybe your dealer would have the same catalog. Lots of neat stuff in it.
