the whole thing. If the stealer seems to think they are worth 9000.00 with 120 thousand miles on them...they must be special
They run up the prices!! But hands down the BadBoy is a sick bike and prolly will go up in value one day! But i want a bike not investment, u know. Dollars and cents to me... what bike takes less mods to get it how i want it!!
If you want to swap the motor go ahead. Just keep the original EVO for later if you want to restore it. I'm not sure why someone mentioned getting a new title, here in MI the bike is titled off the frame vin not the motor. If you buy a new motor it will come with an MSO, just hang onto it and if someone questions the motor (very doubtfull) just show them the MSO in your name.
I am doing basically the same thing with my 87 Lowrider, changing out all the parts I don't like but keeping the old ones in case I get a feeling of nostalgia and want to restore it back to original. Have fun with your project.
If you were building a full on custom and had to have it inspected to get a title issued the motor serial number is needed as well as the frame and transmission. But if your just changing the motor out of a HD titled bike then it will always be titled as an HD bike unless you remove the vin on the frame for some reason

I wasnt sure either.... and besides for resale or maintenance, Who really needs to know... Here in Va bikes have to get inspected, but im not sure what all is involved, Im from SC and we dont have inspections there...????
I'd say if you want a Bad Boy and you have a chance to get one, go for it. They're not going to be any easier to get later on. Worry about the engine mods later. The Evo engine is a good start.

I love the bikes, just afraid the "Tim Allen" need for more power bug might bite!
Got any motor work done to yours? How does the "seat of pants" power feel to you?

Stock Evo with the usual pipes, AC, ignition, and rejetted CV. I'm content with the power. But then again, if I have a need to go fast on two wheels, I have a stretched 07 ZX10R for that. My car is pretty fast too! My Harley is for cruisin.
