hi, Ive got a detachable sissy bar set up and was also wondering what my options are for being able to use detachable bags at the same time....are there any kits out there to do this? It must bas as well as..... as opposed to instead of the sissy bar, as I have a rack fitted to the siisy bar for carrying a tent.
The other option I'm considering is looking into fitting fender rails to the detachable sissy bar so that I can use throw over panniers. This is to stop the bags fouling against the wheel.
I use a pair of Oxford sports bike thro-overs at the moment but thay are very small.
Has anyone on this forum had similar experiences they can share?
Thanks
can I use the sissy bar at the same time as the easy brackets?
Thanks
Yes.
There are lots of ways you can go. HD, Easy Brackets, Edge Ghost Brackets, etc. One even has their own patented type; leatherpros.com. I like the Edge Brackets but the mounting systems are like tires; everyone has their own favorites.
Try not to be too shocked by the prices of the bags and mount's.
Go to Boss Bags website. They have detachable, lockable saddlebags that can be used with the detachable sissybar.
+1
I kept my stock Heritage Classic saddlebags and replaced their brackets with the Boss Bag brackets. This made my saddlebags quick release, and yes, they work with HD's quick release sissybar hardware. So, they operate together or separate in any combination.
I'm not sure if they make just the brackets for any other bags, HD or otherwise, except those mounted to the ones they make.
