I took a test ride on a Deluxe and found it easier to ride/handle than my '05 XL883 Low.
I am 5'6". It has a very low center gravity. I decided to get one.

im 6' - 2" and have long legs. i really like the look of the deluxe now, and feel it is the pertiest thing in the hd arsenol. but all you deluxe owners seem like you are retired from running the preakness. is it best suited for a shorter rider, or are there some adjustments that can enable a long legged antelope like myself to have a comfy cruise on such a beast?

I'm 6'1" with long legs and ride a former Heritage. It now sits as low as or just a bit lower than the Deluxe. It is plenty comfortable, though I did remount my footboards so they are about 4 inches forward. But I did that even before putting on the low seat.
this thread, other then the frogman and the edge guy...is severaly in need of pics. i think that blue/white paint the frog has on his look great. thank god they didnt make this bike in green for the frogs sake. the blue.white works nice with the retro theme. this is the current leader in the clubhouse for the race to fill my lonely harleyless garage.
There is so much stuff out ther for long leg people I am just glad there is now a BT for us short folk.
New two color for 2006 is going to be nice... Pearl White and Cobalt Blue (dark blue).
They eliminated the Chopper Blue combo which they should have kept.

As for the itch, some itch cream will have to do till I save some bucks to rent one. Test rides are nice but renting one for a few days will give you a good idea if the ride is really for you.

I agree totally. Some bikes look good but the ride isn't. Best to ride first then buy. Good idea.
