Did your laptop have the female serial port? mine has a male. Even with computer cables male on male is just wrong...So I guess off to the computer store for a crossover to a usb or something similar. I would have ordered the one from zippers had I known @#$#@ now it's a time thing. Thought most laptops had a male port? both my laptops do anyway. The cable should be female.

you can get a usb to serial adapter but they are not always working. i just bought a used desktop pc for $44 delivered from a reseller of used pc on ebay. it is on a file cabinet so i just ride up to it and pop off the seat and plug in. computer is a p4 2gb with 512 ram running xp with no updates and a wireless card to get thundermax software updates. because it is oem pc and i have the oem disk i dont need to activate xp

i bet your port is not serial but vga video

it is the device it self and the drivers it uses that will decide if compatible
when you say dyno guy i guess your talking a dyno run and not a dyno tune. dyno run only gives you the numbers. you should wait for that until you have a few miles on it so the thundermax has time to tune your bike

I just freshly built the top end of the engine..the dyno is being utilized for seating the rings only. I was told the basemap would run sufficient for this process. just seatin rings properly in a controlled enviroment with fans and no load on the dyno. Because of the heat that will occur as soon as I fire I will be up to operating temp quite fast. I haven't synced the tmax yet for that reason. Could you give me any advice for initial start up.

you still need to initialize the t-max and there is no tuning needed as the base map will change to match the bike

I understand how the tmax works. I'm not on the dyno to tune it, just to break it in. I will initialize it but when I do, the temp will be hot - fast from the new build that's why I didn't do it in the garage.

Default I spoke to Zipper's today about the T-Max,

but I am curious how you made out with the o2 mounts on the Outlaw pipe, cause that is what I am running. Did you get them mounted in the factory bungs, or what exactly?

Yes they fit in factory bungs, not a mm to spare. Had I run the rear 02 sensor across the bike and threwthe back of the oil tank as the instructions suggest the cable would sandwhich between the fins on the head.
The outlaw is a nice pipe however whoever designed the bungs should be shot...The more I think about it the fatcat would be a better fit with the bungs..
