I have and 03 softail heritage. I rode her and then put her up 3 days later I went to start her up got nothing. She turns over, checked the spark with an in line spark plug tester no fire, checked the voltage at the plug going in to the back of coil and resistant oms is 11.8 volts and with 5.56 oms. the hd tech said that the coils hardly ever go out. I did not want to buy another test manual. Any suggestions???

carb'd ? fuel injected? . go thru the simple things an engine needs ... air fuel spark compression ...

it is carded had compression when I turned it over with out plugs in it you could feel it. no I do not have a gauge,,,

yes it had gas going in through the carb with over halr a tank of gas

Check crank position sensor. Should be pulsing about 5 volts ac when cranking engine. Check all electrical connections.

I would go get your self a spark tester from the auto parts store... they are cheap ... start there .. you know you have gas you know you have compression ..

ok here is an update... the crank sensor is about 3 volts dc. taking the starter relay out bike will not turn over. I have compression both cylinder.... Have gas going in to the carb. I have 11.6 volts going in to the coil but no spark???? Kill switch off no turn over, relay out no turn over.... I have an inline spark tester and I also used older spark plugs in the spark plug wires still no spark. Does anyone know what the volts (the other 2 wires) going to the coil should be or do I need a special tester/light fir that too.
