Fatboy Transformation
Thanks everybody.
Coop57 - I agree on being careful not to take too much of the Fatboy away. The front fender is a 14 gauge Kustomwerks Nomad which has a similar profile to the factory - but without the lip on the back. I also mounted it 3/8 above the wheel to slam it a bit. That fender, btw, was very heavy duty and straight. All I had to do is shape the contour at the mounting points. The painter had no bodywork on it at all. At $80 from Kustomwerks, I couldn't complain.
tlb - I looked at the usual stuff from Performance Machine, Hawg Halters, JayBrake, etc, and with the Lyndall pads on the factory calipers, I didn't feel I had a braking problem. $50 for the powder coating and another $30 for the rebuild kits and I was done. I also see now that if I had kept the calipers black they would have looked out of place - especially the rear one. Chrome might have been nice but I'd go with aftermarket instead of factory then.
We're fortunate here in Raliegh where Ray Price has a decent Used Parts shop. It just got taken over by Jerry Turner (Turner Trikes) and he's really cleaned the place up in the past few weeks. I picked up an extra set of calipers just in case the powdercoating didn't work. I got all the parts I needed for the forward controls for $70. New off-the-shelf would have been $300.

Also forgot that I relocated the coil between the cylinders. Cut the bracket off the center post, cut the horn crap off the mount. Had the bracket welded to the mount. Wires are too long at the moment - but I order Rocker C wires which will fit. Not sure I want to cut and splice wires (yet). Though I'll probably have to do yellow wires now...
Didn't want to do the behind the slashguard location since it does get messy under there and I didn't want water problems with coil connections or wires. I relocated the horn to under the transmission. Didn't seem to change the sound quality much. Now I have that ugly mounting post on the transmission to cover up.
