Put together the calipers and test fitted. It was hard to get an idea of what it would look like before I sent the out to be powdercoated - have to say it's probably one of my favorite parts of the transformation. I'll use Lyndall Z-Plus pads to improve feel and reduce dust. Those @#$* polished wheels aren't fun to polish.
Fitted the 5 3/5" Headwinds Concours ($150 eBay special!) and I like it. Had to fab a new mount since the original put the light too far up and forward. I'll probably make a new one to pull the light in more towards the fork tins.
Attitude is done with the paint. Shipping up to me this week.
Scott does fantastic work and was great to work with. 5 week turnaround time.
Color scheme is the factory Chrome Yellow (not the Pearl yellow like recent versions) with PPG Liquid Crystal Performance Yellow tribal flames. Pinstriping is the orange that the factory had on the original paint.
Thanks for the comment. It was a gamble, but I didn't want the decal back on there and also didn't want a painted logo. I also wanted to keep the Fatboy star and wings. Suprisingly, the badge is the same size as the decal that was on there.
So, I guess it'll all be revealed when I see it in person. Fortunately, it's on with adhesive so it could be removed and altered if I don't like it. I may paint the inside of the star to be the base coat yellow.
A few missing pieces. Gas cap (flushmount) and gauge were left at the painters. I'm also switching to factory forward controls and the mounts are being coated. New rear fender struts are still at the chromers. Like I mentioned in my bolt thread, the cad plated stuff really stands out now. I'll also probably paint the inside of the Fatboy emblem either the factory orange pinstripe color (like on the paint now) or the base coat yellow.
Did 200 miles last weekend and nothing fell off. Will go through the critical fastener stuff this weekend. Only think I effed up is swapping high/low beam wiring.
