Default Quieting down a V&H BR 2-1

Like the title says I'm looking to tone down the Big Radius 2-1 exhaust on my 08 FatBoy. I checked with V&H and nfg there as well as Big City Thunder. I also checked with one other place and got the same result.

What I want to know is, is the baffle on the 2-1 pipe removeable and if so, is it possible to wrap fiberglass matting around it like I've seen on a couple of threads?

The baffle is already wrapped in fiberglass. If you take the baffle out, it is a pain to get back in. I'll never take mine out again!

By design it's not removable. They are pressed in however. You should be able to pull it out with a slide hammer. You'll probably need to drill an access hole through the bottom and run a set screw to secure the baffle when you put it back.
You would think that a wrap would work but I've talked to people how did not have any luck with that. Maybe you can make a insert tip for that pipe to restrict the flow.

Or... take a stainless steel threaded shaft and bolt some fender washers about every 2 inches. Then stick that in your pipe to slow down the exhaust flow.

Just a thought. Good Luck.

No, they aren't too loud, but my preference is a little quieter than what they are...They do bark if I get into the throttle as you said.

I looked at the web site provided by Rakthi and the baffle they sell will not work for the V+H 2-1. When you look up the end of your pipe you will see a tube with with holes in it and a plate at the end of it that looks like a dead end. The part with the holes is wrapped with fiberglass that entire system is welded into another pipe that has a cone on it welded to the fwd end. This assy slides as one unit out of the pipe by removing the two screws located near the hose clamps that retain the chrome shield, then hooking the baffle with a slide hammer and tapping out. Once you remove the baffle the fiberglass is not going back in--- mine is laying on the garage floor. You will need to heat the pipe and freeze the baffle the get it back in (interference fit), and the bike will be a little louder than when you started.

Thanx, I had a feeling that it wasn't gonna be ez, so I decided to get some opinions before I ripped into it.

Default Update on V&H BR 2-1 quieter baffle

I got a phone call this morning from Smartpartz.com and they told me they will have a baffle for this application shortly and to watch their web site as to availability. Good news for me...Larry

+1, it isn't loud enough at idle, I would like to make it even louder.
