Default Put Fangs On, Taking Road Trip Tomorrow

Mentioned in a previous thread that I didn't care for the look of the wind deflectors but now that they're on, they're somewhat tolerable. Weather permitting, I'm taking a road trip tomorrow to Portland, so we'll see how they perform. That'll determine whether they stay on or end up on Ebay. Searching other threads, some swear by them, some swear at them. But thanks to these posts, the installation was a no-brainer. The instructions were worthless. Now getting the windshield back on, that's another story. I don't know if my bracket is bent or what the problem is, but I've always had a hard time getting the windshield to seat on the mounts. Now that the mounts are concealed by the wind deflectors, installation is even more difficult.

Ouch. Getting the windshield back on drew blood this time.

Oh well, 30% chance of rain tomorrow, but I'm interpretting it as 70% chance of no-rain.

I put mine on around November and leave them on until May or June.
When it's hot, you will feel more heat off the motor.
They're great in the winter. They all but eleminate the air coming from under the windshield , as I'm sure anybody with a Heritage with a stk windshield (or similar) will tell you, you get some considerable air coming up (usually welcome in the summertime)

"fangs" Thats a good one.

They don't look mounted correctly. I could be wrong but aren't they supposed to fit closer to the forks?

Default They would certainly look better if they were (IMHO)

From what I've read on other posts, people have had problems figuring out how to install them. The instructions aren't much help. These posts say if they don't fit, reverse them or flip them around, or ??? This is the only way they would fit on my bike and clear the turn signals. I've seen photos on other posts and they look similar to mine. If I didn't have the windshield, they would be about 1/3" closer to the forks.

The Harley web site shows them fitting like this...

No, they seem right. They pretty much mount
only one way. Pretty hard to screw up.

I purchased the same deflectors on eBay for my 2010 Heritage, but they won't fit. Correct Harley part number, but they hit the turn signals and can't be installed. Also, the one's on the Harley site are straight, down the side, but mine have a small cut out on the outside edge?

The cut on the outside edge is so when you turn or are stopped the deflectors will not hit an engine guard.

Strange, they fit fine on my 2010.
