Same story here -- I got mine off of eBay. The seller was a Harley dealer that sells a ton of stuff on eBay. Brand new seat in the box for $254 plus $15 shipping. Had I bought it locally, it would've been $330 plus 7.5% sales tax. No one had it in-stock here either, so would've had to wait for them to order it anyway.
Now, if you don't want to do eBay, check out Chicago Harley Davidson online. They sell most parts at a discount online - you pay shipping, but in the end, you still save money. My wife has an '09 Deluxe and we got the H-D saddlebags that match her bike through Chicago H-D -- we saved $170 on that deal.
milwakee harley has alot on ebay too. Did you ask the dealer in Raliegh to match that price? Ray Price probably laughed at you, right? I don't see how dealers sell anything when you can get it so much cheaper on the internet these days. I just really wanted to see it first but i havent heard a bad thing about that seat. I stop at all the dealers i can during work and still havent seen one on a used bike.
In my opinion, not that anyone is asking, but the Sundowner may be somewhat comfy it may also be one of the ugliest seats HD has, next to the "Tall Boy" The both really don't fit the lines of the FatBoy.
