FL Leather Covered Hard Bag Project On FLSTF
All right here is the deal,
I am in the middle of putting FL leather covered Hard Bags on the 2000 Fat Boy, I was able to pick up some used bags dirt cheap that are structrurly very sound good buckles lids and such how ever the lids need some much needed attention as far as the leather goes. They need to be recovered, plus I do not like the basket weave leather and plan on replacing it with the Fat Boy perforated leather instead.
Does anyone know if they can be covered I cant seem to find a reason why they cant but also can not find anyone saying they can do it.
Also I am seeing more and more people wanting to go this direction adding the FL style bags and when complated will post a step by step process.
Does anyone know if they can be recovered and who might be able to do such work

Seeing as how they are covered in leather, I can't see any reason they couldn't be RE-covered.
Have you tried checking with auto, boat, or funiture apholsterers (sp??). I'd go thru the phone book and give them a try.
