Default Detachable Help!!!

OK, I've got stock HD fatboy bags and stock backrest on my bike now. I know that I will need to buy the quick detach sideplates for the bar, but what do I need to do to make the bar and the bags both quick disconnect??
What docking hardware do I need and can I even make the stock HD bags quick disconnect? The stealership counter guy told me I was pretty much screwed and it couldn't be done, but that seems hard to believe.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks

I have the same bags on mine now and the QD bar from HD. I just ordered the Bareback system for the bags yesterday from Dr V Twin. This allows you to detach the bags very quick or least claims to. Not sure if you are wanting something to detach bar and bags at same time? If so, I have never seen anything.

If these barebacks work the ay they should, the bage would come off in seconds and sissy bar pops off with it's own QD mounts.

I will let you know when I install mine if it works.

Mike

Sweet... So I just buy the QD sideplates for the sissy bar and buy the barebacks and I'm good on both??
Does anyone have any pics of what this set up looks like once the bags and bar are off?
Thanks again!

OH.. so you need the docking hardware for the sissy bar also.. I'm guessing that's what you're meaning?
The barebacks don't come with the grommets?
I did a search and found a pic you had posted.. Is this what they look like once everything is removed??

Default Easybrackets and Hardware

I have used the Easybracket with hardware. You can get the hardware to have both the detachable sissy bar/seat and detachable bags. They have system for pretty much any combination of sissy bar and bag.

do you have any complaints with the easy brackets or the barebacks about having a huge gap between the fender and the bag?

Some of the pictures look like its a giant gap, others not so much.

No complaints. It's the cost of having detachable sissy bar and detachable bags. I have all chrome rear and want don't want to cover all of the time with the bags. Plus, bike looks cleaner without the bags for my around town and short trips.
