I am the proud new owner of a 2011 Sedona orange Crossbones. I also went with the brawler seat. I don't think it hurt the look and I like how it rides this way.
Comfort on a bike is important but to me, a HUGE part of the overall look of a CB is, aside from the springer fork and fat front tire, the springer seat, no?

Agreed. Without the sprung seat...it's no longer a Bones bobber IMO. Not to mention, the seat I have now is super comfortable....so you can have your comfort and style too.
Yes it took a while to get used to having no support to stop myself from sliding on the seat I have bounced of the back as well one reason why I changed mine to a cc seat
I have an Springer Classic, went to a -25 and loved the look. It was comfy for about the 1st 100 miles or so but then started to bother me.
Now I'm using a XBones seat and it is for me, the most comfortable seat I've ever ridden on. I bought an Air Hawk seat pad and think the XBones seat is more comfortable without it.
The sprung seat definitely makes the Crossbones. It's supposed to reflect the 1947 style, right? To me, the stock seat is very comfortable.....great padding and it sits higher than the 1925 style which is perfect for the taller riders. I'd hate sitting an inch or two lower. If I wanted a leather version, I'd look to the other 1940's style HD solo seat with the leather trim around the outside. Not sure I like that style with the chrome accent piece, but it depends on the look you want for your bike.
My mind adjusted my acceleration over time for the stupid seat I had.. then when I take my wife out for a ride and put the 2 up seat I get the back support and boom I find myself flying !

Who makes the seat post used in your sig pic?
Edit: Nevermind...found it. Pretty cool!
