Default hey Newb here with a problem

i was driving down the road when my night train just died out of the clear blue sky, so i tried the momentum start to get it back running and nothing happened. so i went to go get my truck and trailer and my wife called and said it was running again, so when i got back i strated it up bun it ran like crap and the it just died again. when i got it back home and tried to start it the little module on the back of the innder fender would tick every couple seconds when i tried to start it and thats all the noise it would make. i appologize for my typing and i would haved searched but i dont know what the little module is called.

this is the little thing i was talking about http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...y/DSCN0479.jpg

Sounds like your battery is weak or dead. From the looks of the contact points in the picture, I would clean those as well as the battery posts and terminals, check the battery voltage as well. Put it on a charger if needed. Then try to start. Post up some info about your bike to give us some idea what we're dealing with as well. Oh by the way, welcome to the forums. Post up in the new members section and say "Hello" to everyone. Good Luck.

That my friend is the main circuit breaker. If the electrical circuit should over load the contact inside will open and stop the current. When it clicks do you have power? If not you have a problem that is overloading the entire electrical system. But first I would do as our Southern friend said. Charge the battery do a load test on it and if the battery is bad replace it this should fix your problem It happened to me also (with a 1 month old battery mind you) Also get your self a shop manual and read it from front to back several times you will be glad you did even if you have a shop work on your bike. Remember only FOOLS can be FOOLED and the uneducated rider is a FOOL. Learn all you can from the people here and on your own. Let us know the outcome as we may learn something from you.
