I had an big sucker on my sportster, with the willie g skull insert, looked awsome. I have an 07 softail now and has a round K&N style filter. part #29442-990. Do I need to buy another big sucker and insert, or can I just put one on the filter I have now? I like the naked breather look. Is this filter just as good as the big sucker?

 

It should fit right on. There is one way to find out. Get out the allen wrench.

 

I would have but let it go with the sporty, seen another one on ebat for 35 bucks. The K&N I have looks just like my big sucker did!
