The dealer is having trouble getting the lava red sunglo. Only two in the DFW/TX area and he can't seem to get the other dealers to trade. I' m waiting for a new list on Monday for dealer trades, based on a new shipment schedule. I have a back up color, but I would really like to try to hang on to the r ed.
Back up is black. I know it looks great, but I also know its a bitch to keep clean. I may push for the red and if it is not available, go for a 2006 in a couple of months.
How far away are the other dealers? There are 3 dealers closer to me, but I went to a fourth, which was 50 miles further to get my bike at MSRP. I told my local dealer "sorry, i'll bring it in for it's first service cause your close, but i'm buying it cheaper elsewhere." If they don't have what you want and someone else does, go for it. It would be worth the ride.
If they are giving you a discount I would do it now. Thats what I did to the tune of about 3500 in accessories and still have been adding stuff. Go figure.
Great News. They found the Lava Red Sunglo. Should be in my local dealer early next week and ready to go a few days later. Guess it pays to be patient. Bike was at MSRP and HD recommended amounts for transportation.
Salesperson (who is the manager) has been great. Very low key and very helpful.
I'll post pics when it gets here. Now. off to find some insurance.
I bought my bike about 150 miles from my house. The price was about 800 cheaper, and there were 5 dealers closer....but man that first ride home was sweet. (cept havin to vary my speed for the break in)
