hey guys, i have a crossbone09 with the heartland bobber kit,how did you mod the seat to make it a true spring-style seat!!do you think its possible to use the original seat for longer ride... thank you
I bought plastic step down bushings from the local hardware store that fit over the last coil of the spring and stepped down to inside that coil. I can ride all day on the seat the way it is now.
Hey TX Outlaw. Did the offset on the Heartland Kit throw off the balance of the bike much. Was thinking about going with the 250 kit but not sure I want to mess with the balance of the bike.
Im not too into the Heartland kits myself. I dont like the way they turn out and they are sooo expensive. They do give you everything you need to convert legally but you can do everything on your own pretty easy as well. I went with the Shadetree Fabrications kit and like it but its all up to what you want to spend and get out of it. Im sure you can get the seat issue worked out as well pretty easy.

Lead sled makes shadetree's fenders...best to just go to the source, considering it took months to get mine and communication was poor at best.
This is one reason to deal with Heartland. They have great customer service. Yes, their stuff is not inexpensive, but they are there to answer questions and they even know the answers. That goes a long way in my book.
I guess I lucked out with my fender kit. I bought it from a forum member who didnt want it anymore and I found an install for it in an old magazine I had. Not knocking Heartland they're popular for a reason but I got 2 other vehicles Im trying to provide for lol they take up too much money too.
I'm new to the forum and have a question. I have an 03 FXST that came with a heartland kit on it. What can I do to put a spring seat on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
