Default Switching to braided lines

I am thinking about switching my cables / lines to braided. The brake line is straight forward, and I have read a few threads with suggestions on the clutch cable.

How much of a pain is it to change the throttle and idle cables with fuel injection? Does the tank have to come all the way off or can you get to it by just lifting it a bit?

Thanks in advance.

They charged me 8 hours labor. But they also switched handle bars.

the throttle and idle can be gotten to by sliding the tank back a little i helped my friend change his and saved him $600 that the dealership wanted to charge

I have some stainless on the Deuce and my wife's 1200C is ALL stainless. If I had to do it again I would not change any out. The black seems to "disappear" whereas the stainless sorta says "look at me I am stainless". So personally I am not sold on the "look" and can see zero performance benefit in brakes. Not suggesting anything to anyone...just my personal experience that dollars/weight/look just not there for me. Go for it if you like as it is your stuff. Check search section before asking how to properly bleed the brakes! John

It is easier if you take the tank off, but can be done as stated above. The hardest part about removing the tank is draining the gas. Not a big deal.

Yeah Flibuoy I know what your saying about the 2 styles. I was leaning more towards the black because I don't want the cables to be a focal point, just want it to look complete.

I just switched my switch housings, grips & brake/clutch controls to all chrome. The gray metal fittings of the stock cables just doesn't look right against them. I know there are covers available, but those add bulk and I don't think they will completely cover it all. I even thought about painting them black , just don't want to look crappy.

as long as you take some fine grit sand papper and rough them up the paint acctually comes out looking great and best part is you can always do touch ups
