I've had a Bare Bones for 5 years now, no complaints. I also find it quite comfy, probably the only one too! I bought it for the looks, but have no problem laying down 300 mile days. Maybe my *** isn't as spoiled as some here.

I can only speak for the LePera Barebones, as that's what I have on my '06 Standard....but I've done up to 400 miles in a day on it.....tho 80 miles at a time is my limit.. Sure looks good tho!

How does the bare bones fair compared to the oem seat? I really like the look of the bare bones and if it's no worse than oem, then it seems like a,good choice.

I have the Lepera Bare Bones with the gel pad-not a comfortable seat.

Edit: but then I weigh 237 pounds

I have both seats. Barebones for looks is a 10, but i can only handle it for about an hour. Danny Grey buttcrack...maybe two hours. Both seats look great though.

Bit how does the lepers compare to oem? I hear a lot of people c9mplain about it and while ita not as comfortable as my mustang, I can ride long distances with it. I'm just curious if the bare bones is about the same as the stock seat or more or less comfortable.

I guess that would depend on what OEM seat you are talking about.

I replaced the OEM seat on my '15 Sportster 48 with a Bare Bones (no gel). The Bare Bones was way better than that particular OEM seat, which felt like a cinder block. However, the Bare Bones wasn't as comfortable as the OEM seat on my new Softail Slim.

I'm currently riding on the stock seat of a '14 street glide.

I have the DG Buttcrack Solo. It fits the shape of the bike perfectly and once broken in it is very comfortable. I like the simple looks of the seat and can easily ride 2 hours on it.

I got rid of a Barebones after I installed the Danny Gray Buttcrack solo.
The Barebones was no different than riding on the bikes frame, totally sucks for riding on, though it did look good.
