Was u bored when u wrote this post..It seems like u answerd your own questions...if your worried about what other people think u really shouldnt buy one..in my opinion=0)
I'm really not concerned what others think about me, rather, the bike in question.
In a sense, this is a rhetorical question. I hear people consistently telling me that the V-Rod is not a true Harley. To me, it is. But, since I find myself grouping the Rocker and the V-Rod in the same class (defying the traditional stylings of H-D), does the Rocker qualify as a true Harley-Davidson motorcycle?
If we are going to say that the V-Rod is out, so then, is the Rocker. If we can accept the Rocker, why not the V-Rod.
I just want people to think about it and respond. For many, it is the traditional styling that makes the bike. That is perhaps the number one reason I hear regarding the V-Rod. Secondly, the engine. Which, is likely the only reason I don't hear more about the Rocker. The looks can't be backed up by the engine?
But, the tank, fenders, etc etc are so far different from any other H-D product, it is almost NOT a Harley...but, is it authentic? You tell me, and why.
I have always thought the V-rod should have said Buell on the air box cover. (the tank is under the seat?) The Rocker while being the ugliest thing in bone stock form, also has the most potential of any Harley made right now...to have the look of a full blown custom...with just a few modifications.
I like them both and the Rocker is a true Harley. It has it all. You have to get away from the classic Harley every now and then. Ride a V-Rod then decide, that sucker rocks. I am not a fan of the baggers but they have their place in the big picture. Who knows someday I may just get one but not today.
Yeah, but I rode the NightRod at demo days, and it was a rush. I'm still wondering what 4th and 5th are for, consider 3rd was about 90mph.
Geoff was talking about the V- rod not a night rod big time difference there. as for the Rocker It uses the Deuce gas tank so that must mean it is a true Harley. Seems Harley took all left over parts and put them in a mixing bowl and came up with the Rocker
Yep, my rocker is ugly too, that is why people always go check it out in front of a bar and walk past the Old Man bikes. The bike still has the same 96CI that others do, but I guess since it does not scream old man on the rest of the styling it is not a harley. It may be that only older guys could actually afford harleys, but now days that are alot of younger guys with the cash to get one or our messed up economy will lend money to anyone. Who actually gives a ****. Buy what you want and leave it there.
