What bars come on the FXSTD factory? Are they comfortable? i love my 12" mini apes, but not the most comfort ,.......
What looks good.... has decent distance comfort?
+1 on Carlini. They offer "blems" AKA blemish bars for $100 off of the $300 bars. Call them and ask if they happen to have the bars you want in a blem. I got lucky and they had the size I wanted. The blemish is so small I'd never seen it but I asked and they were very good about telling me exactly where it was and the details.
I'm putting some HD Bombay bars on my Deuce within the next few weeks. I've had them in a box in the garage for over a year. HD doesn't make them anymore but you can spot them on eBay every once in a while. I can't find a pic right now.
Another +1 on the Carlini's. I have the 1 1/4" cleansweeps that I bought off ebay brand new blemish bars. I could not find a blemish anywhere on the bar... Got it for dirt cheap too.
I don't know what the factory bars are but they are very comfortable for me. I am only 5'9" and the seating position with factory bars is fine for long rides. I have sat on others bikes with different bars setups and they felt weird to me. You get comfortable with what you have after a few rides. I remember crashing my dirt bike bending the bars riding all summer and replacing them the bike felt very different with straight bars almost wrong.
