Default Sissy Bar Question

I bought HD Saddle Bags and HD Tall Sissy Bar for my 2010 Fat Boy. Had the HD Service department install them since I am mechanically inept. When I picked up the bike after the installs, I noticed I had a medium/low sissy bar on the bike. When I asked the service department about this, they informed me that the tall sissy bar would not fit on the Fat Boy with 200 mm rear wheel.
Is this for real or are they giving me something that I did not want? They informed me they had to drive around for 3 hours looking for one that would fit my bike.
Anyone know if this is for real or are they blowing smoke up my tail pipe?

check the accesories catalog, find the bar you wanted and see if it lists your bike under fitment.

The tall sissy bar from HD will not fit a 200mm rear end. I hope they didn't charge you for a tall there is a price difference.

What a story, get your money back and use your 3 hours of riding time to find a dealer that actually knows what a sissy bar is....
Live, learn, ride hard and don't believe what any dealer tells you !
Best of luck on this.

In my research there is a limited selection of sissy bars available for 2007-2010 FatBoys.
I wanted to go the other route though, I think the medium low is still too high. I wanted something just high enough to keep the wife from slipping off the back.

Thanks all for the comments. They did refund the difference in the money between the Tall and the Medium/Low but I was wondering if they made a mistake or liked the Tall and put mine on their bike and gave me one of theirs that they didn't like. I am going to another Harley Dealer in Tucson this weekend to ask them for sure because in the parts book it says the Tall will fit a 2010 Fat Boy. But didn't say anything about the 200mm rear tire. Thanks again for the info though.

The med/low is the only one that would fit my 09 fatboy /200 tire according to the HD catalog and the mecanics. I am happy with it, and glad it is detachable. Only need it when wife is aboard. As long as they charged you correctly, enjoy it.
