Default Deuce fork performance upgrades?

What's everyone doing to improve performance of their Deuce forks? I've had good success with Race Tech stuff in the past for dirt bikes and notice they make HD parts as well. How's the Progressive kits? I'll probably be putting Progressive 422s on the back and lowering it about an inch or so as well.

I'm not trying to turn it into some precision cornering rice bike but would like to improve it some. Mostly mine feels mushy and when I get on the brakes the front end takes a fair amount of dive. Can I improve this with a simple HD SE heavy weight fork oil change? I don't want to make the ride too harsh though. It already feels a little harsh up front.

The Progressive front/rear combo is priced about what I want to spend on my suspension total but if I can save some or even do better for less, that would be great.

Thanks for any input.

I'm currently running the Progressive springs in front and like them. I tried heavier oil, and did not like it. Switched to a 7 wt, and like that much better. My next upgrade will be to the Ricor drop in valves. Had 422's in the rear, but upgraded to Works Performance.
Hope that helps.

We have 2 04 Duces with INTIMINATORS in them. Makes a big difference, takes away the mushy response while not making the bike more harsh.

I know I'm talking about my own product but you can do a search on here for other opinions.

Call me if you have any questions.

I was going to say check out Ricor. A buddy has them on his Dyna and it rides real nice.

Thanks for the input everyone,

Just an FYI but Progressive is running a special on free fork springs with the purchase of shocks during April:
http://www.progressivesuspension.com...ingpromo10.pdf

Very tempting deal. Will the 422s work on a 2007 FXSTD?

Edit: I just got off the phone with Progressive. Very nice people BTW. The part #s I'll need if anyone finds this thread later are 422-4037C for the rear 422s and 10-1561 for the front springs. If that Eastern Performance price drops back dow to that $360ish mark, I'm all over the 422s and sending in for my free springs. I like the other offerings mentioned here but that's a little more than I have to spend right now.

Any good fork oil advice for this setup out there? Stick with a good 7w? I'll be lowering about 1-2".

Thanks again.
