Pretty sure you were talking about mine. The apes are a little wider than the forks but not by much. I have seen many softails with the same width apes on them. I also have no issues taking my fairing on and off. I didnt have to mod the mounting bracket at all. The issue I had was getting apes wide enough to clear were the stereo goes. Here is a link to previous discussion on this topic. I will say Chucky from LA Choppers was great to work with when I was trying to decide if I should go with the bagger apes. I was considering Gangster apes because I believe they fix the issue as well just to expensive for me to try out then find out they would not work. If anyone has questions feel free to PM me.
Yeah, I should have clarified that it is OUR brackets that could have issues due to the width of the bars and not every wide bar will be an issue. I have had some come through at the rallies that posed an issue. the most recent being a Fatboy with wide Electraglide pulled back Apes.
We designed the brackets to slide straight down into position so that you wouldn't have to move your passing lamps forward to mount the fairing. In doing so, we used more material on the upper mount than you might see with some other fairing manufacturers.
Hey can anyone tell me what the panels under the seat, just in front of the bags are called like the ones in Dead Center Cycles signature pic, and is there any that fit fatboy
Thanks fellas!!

They're called side panels. Not sure if there's any that fit a fatboy.
Really like the look of your bike!
I just bought Harley hard bags for my Heritage and I'm waiting on my Cavalry Softail Bagger Tail Mounts to get here.
What turn signal lights are you running on the bags and where did you get them if you dont mind sharing?
Thanks
