It was just a regular fatboy fender, had it painted to match by Colormania (long story in Off Topic about my experience with them). Took 7 months to get done so I'm going to hang onto it
Another pic of the fender.

Here is my recently acquired 2002 Fatboy with bags, shield and sissybar/luggage rack. I have since removed the rack and sissy bar. Bike has 13,000 miles and I guess it is at stage 1 (SE pipes and air filter). Has a TFI tuner, which I'd like to get rid of. I may have dealer do a download...

I ordered straight through Samson. They said three weeks, and it took three weeks! I was happy about that after all posts bashing them. They have removable baffles and tips. Sound is great but left side heat is pretty intense in traffic. Waiting on a crotch cooler, hope it helps.
I have the smaller quick detach bags made for my Deluxe They ugly my bike up real bad though and fast too. They have not been on my bike since we fitted them. I'm retiring soon so it's either going to be them or pulling a trailer.
I had the Boss quick release bags and wound up never taking them off except to clean the bike. I like the look of the hard bags much better and I'll have to live with the brackets. Like I said, I never take them off. That goes for the fairing too. I expected to use it occasionally, turned out not to be the case. Although I'm second guessing my choice of fairing right now. Post a pic with the bags, can't believe you can ugly that bike up too much.
Hi guys,
I am trying to figure out what bags will look best on my '97 Softail Custom.
I found Viking bags online. Anybody have knowledge or experience with those guys? They seem to be priced well, are model specific and come with brackets and turn signal relocation kits.
I am looking at the Charger Slanted model for my ride. Opinions?
I'm not crazy about bags that don't come down and take up the space between the pipe and the bag. I know that price is always a big consideration but look at the boss bag and leather pro sites. If nothing else there are a lot of photos to check out. The charger bag fit looks like the stock bags on a deluxe. If you like it, go with it. It's your bike and you have to like it. I like the look of bigger bags, such as the heritage bags compared to deluxe bags. Just my opinion though.
