Default Removing seat post

OK - I have searched and cannot find how to remove the fake seat post the coil is mounted to. I am going to relocate my coil and need that thing outta there. My problem is it wont come out. Am I missing some trick or do i need to cut while it's still in there? Do i just need to pull harder and bulldog it outta there?
Thanks.

itll come out. its a pain in the a$$. i think if you remove the pipes itll be easier, but that adds more time. i just kept wiggling it around and moving the oil tank and it finally came out.

It's the bar that runs from the frame "backbone" to the engine, correct? What is it's real purpose? Are there any drawbacks if you remove it?

It's only purpose is to mount the coil. I've had mine out for a while now. No problems. If you have a painted tank, put some tape on it to protect it. Just keep wiggling, it will come out. I made a small aluminum box to cover the bracket on the engine. I made a custom bracket for the coil.

Yanked it, was kind of easy? Guess it depends on the kind of bike. One year, no ill effects?

I've got an 08 Crossbones and it doesn't seem to want to come easy at all.
