Started polishing my ugly rear deuce wheel tonight with the mothers mini power ball and mothers power metal aluminum polish.
Its going.......ok. I worked for only and hour on one side and the wheel definately shines more, BUT it is definately not as shiny as i want.
Anyone who has experience polishing have any suggestions? Is this going to take me for ever for that chrome look? Do I just keep re applying the polish and keep on polishing?
I have plans on some PM wheels next year, but i figured I would do this to get me by... rear wheel=only ugly thing on the deuce.
A small buffer wheel on a dremmel or a die grinder is the best way to go.
Make sure you use a little water and lots of polish or you get shiney and dull areas. The little buffer wheels that dremmel offers are junk, don't waste your money on them unless they have improved them lately, the last ones I got a year or so ago were junk and fell apart.
I picked up a 3 or 4 inch buffing wheel that fits into a drill. I used it to olish a stainless sreel bracket I made. It shines like chrome! I imagine this would work well with your wheel you just need to get the correct compound. Or if you really want to get all the nooks and crannies you csan spring for a kit like this one: http://www.caswellplating.com/buffs/alpolkit.htm
