It's definitely not one piece. That would be too easy. You have to buy docking hardware, detachable sideplates, the sissy bar itself, backrest pad, and luggage rack. I bought mine from Surdyke.com and they discount everything about twenty percent. I can't remember for sure but I think it was around 400 dollars or so. What I would suggest is to use Harley's builder to put one together and then put the part numbers into surdyke's system to make sure you don't forget anything. Someone on here might have all the part numbers saved somewhere but I don't. One of the online parts dealers like Surdyke is definetly the way to go though. You can also get one that is one piece except for the backrest pad on it but it's the pointed one and doesn't allow for a luggage rack. Some people also aren't crazy about the look but it looks alright to me.

So that seat and both the front and back, back rest w/hardware was $400?...Remember, I am new at this, but a quick study...And the Harley "builder"...What is that, on the factory site as if you building a bike and adding ACCs"???...I am familiar with Surdyke.

Just talking with ya'all here, I am going to bump myself to $1K and just do it the right way...The picture of your bike, minus the pipes ( I like the Bullet look ) is close to my "vision" for my Lo...All I want to do is the back rest, bags, and windshield...I LOVE the way my Lo looks stock...

Umm. The seat with it's drivers backrest was about 700 dollars. The seats a Corbin and they are up towards the premium level as far as seats go. It looks like it might be one piece from the angle the pic was taken at and how close the passenger seat runs to the bottom of the sissy bar. The 400 just covers the stuff required for the sissy bar itself and the luggage rack. Here's the link for the bike builder http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...bmLocale=en_US Just click on it and it will take you to a screen where you can select your bike and start adding accessories. They don't have everything in the catalog but the stuff for sissy bars is there. Well I just checked it out and it has everything you'll need except for the luggage rack. Before you get any saddlebags make sure you check out bags in person since you might be a little disappointed in how small the bags are that will fit with stock pipes.

Default Cool...

I really appreciate the extra effort...I will try that out...My problem has been trying to save money by looking at the discount retailers...It has drove me crazy with the generic descriptions,etc...

As far as bags go, I want enough space for rain gear, a pistol, a few tools...Or just enough for a quick run to dollar general or something...Because of my health, I will have to trailer the bike if I am driving far enough to stay overnight...

I will try this route and see what happens...Thanks again..

Yeah the pain in the butt part of ordering off a discount site is that you have to have part numbers. HD's website works pretty well for the most part in getting the part numbers and being able to look at things. The builder like I said doesn't have a lot of parts to look at but if you go to HD's main parts section you can find everything else.

Bags have arrived....no looking back now. Now to wait for the cycle vision brackets to come in. Tomorrow going to drop off the bags to get them re-clear coated to match denim black and also talk to the Indy about what to do about the signal light bar for fitment (has to be modified to fender).

Looks like I have a winner for the bags...propped up for now to get a sense. I so dig the rounded edges compared to stocks. Once dropped an inch it will flush up to the rear fender bang on. The Cavalry bags feel of good quality, seals & solid. Only thing I see that will annoy me is how finiky the latches are to close. Oh ignore all the detachments heh....in a few days I am heading out on my 10 day road trip

Next round of powder coats...guess what get it

The P&A book is your friend. Pictures, part numbers, and what fits is all right there. Gather the part numbers then hit up Horny Toad HD in Texas for the best prices, real shipping rates, and best customer service. Or you might be able to just contact Horny Toad and tell them what you want. Jon the parts mgr should be able to fix you up.

You guys with hard bags on your Lo's...how much is everything running you before paint and where? Almost traded for a '12 Street Glide only because it has bags/radio. I'd rather save money instead.
